Ideal Sponsorship PDF Print E-mail
The ideal ‘sponsorship’ is where everyone gets a fair piece of the money that a game makes.  The ‘traditional sponsorship’ model would give the developer a fixed up-front price.  If the game was a HUGE internet hit and made the sponsor $10,000s the developer wouldn’t see any of that.

Conversely, if the sponsor gave a large up-front payment and the game bombed they would have lost money.

So an ideal sponsorship bases the compensation to the developer on the success of a game.  Can you think of a better or fairer approach?

Additionally an ideal sponsorship maximizes the total amount of money that a game can make.  This means that all four revenue paths (Traffic Generation, Direct Advertising Impressions, Non-Exclusive Licenses and Micro-transactions) are allowed. [See Sponsorship Overview for more details ]

I’m happy to say that a sponsorship like this is available.  We call it a ‘primary license’ sponsorship with bonuses based on how much traffic your game brings to the sponsors site.  We have several big portals on FGL that are anxious to offer this deal on the best games!
